REDCAT (The Roy and Edna Disney / CalArts Theater), CalArts’ downtown center for contemporary arts, needed a digital platform as forward-thinking as its programming to replace an outdated site that couldn’t keep pace with the rhythm of performances and events.
The project united two parallel efforts: a new brand identity with Fisk and a website redesign with NewCity. My focus was translating the new brand into a flexible design system — a library of components where typography, color, and motion could adapt fluidly while remaining coherent, accessible, and true to REDCAT’s vision.
The result is a vibrant, modular, and scalable platform that redefined how REDCAT connects with its audience. Post-launch, engagement grew through smoother ticketing, increased online traffic, and expanded reach via streaming performances. Their digital presence now reflects the vitality and culture of experimentation at the heart of REDCAT.
