Sometimes it just feels right to keep old work around.
It charts an honest course through your history. Especially when it still feels relevant, despite everything you’d do differently now. This one’s that, plus a snapshot of the Flash era, rich with interactivity, invention, and early digital optimism galore.
Leaning into the slower page loads of the time, I wrote a script that randomly spliced interstitial photo-collages over content between page transitions. A small detail that turned waiting into part of the experience. One of those ideas I still find myself looking for an excuse to use again.
During my time at Curiosity, I worked on projects for HP, Apple, Nautilus, and Nike SPARQ, among others. Built for Brad Stewart using Neville Brody’s brand standards, tag-teamed with Alberto Cerriteño, and featuring product design by longtime friend Andy Jenkins — the launch of Bonfire’s 2005 site became a rare convergence, and remains one of my personal favorites for all the right reasons.
