The Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College stands at the intersection of tradition and innovation, with a long legacy as a teaching museum where art fosters dialogue, discovery, and connection.
As the Benton prepared to move into its new home, conceived to deepen its role as a teaching museum and cultural hub, Pomona College, a long-standing collaborator, partnered with the museum team and NewCity to create a digital experience that reflected the building’s quiet confidence, and expressed the museum’s new identity to help carry its legacy into a new era.
I led the design team and creative direction that transformed the museum’s identity into a digital experience defined by light, space, and balance. A corner motif, inspired by the new building’s geometry, became a signature visual element guiding interaction and movement across the site.
The final result is a calm, modern, and responsive counterpart to the physical space, grounded in the art it was built to celebrate. We delivered a system that feels timeless and adaptive, attuned not only to devices but to the rhythm of exhibitions and programs that shape the museum’s character and calendar.
